Mother

I dedicated the painting "Mother" to my mam. I always had a good connection and special attachment to my mother, but our relationship, in the last years, became very tense. She started to have big problems with her health, and at the time, when she probably needed me the most, I became very distant and cold and even left her. And from there, things in our relationship started to break. I felt guilty and couldn't find peace about my past. As a result, strange, surreal dreams about my childhood reflect now in my art.

The painting is my little experiment I made it without brushes, only a palette knife. I depicted a surreal dying flower and a flying away white butterfly. Here the flower comes as a symbol of my mother, and the rocks symbol of her sickness and a broken relationship.
